What is a discovery group?
This is when a group of five to ten people invest in coaching through the self-discovery process. Everyone involved will be guided through creating an extensive list of the fundamental building blocks that make them who they are; hobbies, characteristics, and strengths. The coach's responsibility is to ask questions that every person has to answer about themselves and others. This process allows for the individual's insight about themselves, as well as the insight that their peers have about them to do the heavy lifting in discovery.
Why should I do a discovery group?
Life is busy, it is easy to forget how we are unique and what special qualities we can share with our team. It is also very easy to get caught up in life and not notice the people around us, as well as what qualities they have to offer. A discovery group, not only reconnects an individual with themselves, but also with their peers, their coworkers, or teammates. The sessions allow people to slow down and learn how to sit, listen, observe, and appreciate those around them.
Would I fit in a discovery group?
There is one extremely important quality that all team members must have in order to do well in a discovery group; they must be willing and eager to participate. A discovery group simply cannot function without every person involved being ready to speak, listen, and share observations. Everyone must be kind and encourage their peers, as they all work together.
How much does it cost?
Discover Deep Waters is designed to be accessible financially, so that anyone who desires to be a part of a discovery group, can be. Discovery groups can be done in two separate ways. The recommended option is through a six-week course (a 2-hour session each week) that costs $210 per person. The other option is an 8-hour intensive workshop that costs $65 a person. Either option is done primarily over zoom unless otherwise discussed.
